About Us

Art Safari

Adventure? Inspiration? Fun? New skills? A new way of seeing?

We want to: –

give you opportunities to draw and paint in environments which will enrich your appreciation of the natural world

inspire you to paint from nature and give you the artistic skills to be able to make fast impressions of moving animals

provide you with a varied artistic programme which will stimulate you and your art

give you a fun and relaxing holiday, learning new skills and experiencing the thrill and excitement of a safari

introduce you to the art and culture of another country

Let us take you away…

Art Safari painting holidays and workshops are for both naturalists and artists. Join us in one of 40 countries in Europe, Americas, Asia, Australasia, Antarctic and the Arctic. There will be plenty of opportunity to sketch, watch and relax in the most glorious surroundings. On wildlife tours we stay in national parks and wild areas to draw, paint, learn and wonder at the diversity of wildlife and natural habitats. On urban tours we linger in cities and villages, finding fascinating architecture and shadow, taking in exhibitions and galleries. We cater for your comfort in secluded safari camp and hotel accommodation, with delicious food and friendly service. We take away the headache of travel by organising your travel arrangements and flights. Art Safari is ATOL protected 9916.

As featured in The Telegraph, Guardian, Sunday Times, Wanderlust, Travel Africa, Africa Geographic, Artist & Illustrator, The Artist, Leisure Painter and on international news around the world via Associated Press.

We welcome artists of all standards, as well as photographers and non-painting partners. Our art safaris are tailor-made to suit the individual needs, artistic abilities and size of each group. As Art Safari groups are small, there is a lot of one-to-one tuition as well as exercises. You have time to develop your personal style and technique in graphite, pastel and water-colour.

If you are travelling on your own, you are always part of a very social group and you will be looked after by your safari guide and your art tutor throughout the entire trip. Travelling with like-minded people means you will doubtless enjoy their company as well as having time to yourself.

“I find painting wildlife, people and landscapes in far-off places the most inspiring, colourful and life-enhancing activity we can do as artists.”

Non-Painters Welcome

If you want to bring a friend or partner who doesn’t paint, they are most welcome, especially if they are interested in nature.  Non-painters benefit from the attention of the safari guide for in depth animal or bird watching while others are painting.
