Being outdoors sketching is the best thing in life

Alice Angus is based in London and spends as much time as she can in the wild places of Scotland. Her work spans illustration and drawing, textiles, and sculptures. She combines her independent projects with larger-scale endeavours, including commercial work, public artworks, academic research, and arts and community projects. Alice is interested in people, places, and myths, and enjoys working on-site with communities, drawing live and from life to uncover and document stories. She often collaborates with other organizations, academics, companies, and groups.

Alice’s teaching style is perfect for all skill levels, as she employs fundamental techniques to craft expressive and atmospheric artwork. She thrives on working outdoors, drawing inspiration from her surroundings and engaging all her senses—sight, sound, scent, and touch. Her work often ventures into the abstract, creating vibrant soundscapes through colour and pattern.
