Paul Green is a fabulous and friendly sculptor based on the Suffolk coast. He draws inspiration from his love of nature, passion for birds, and his previous career as a nature reserve warden at Minsmere. Paul’s work has been featured on Channel 4’s “Grayson’s Art Club” and displayed at the Manchester Art Gallery.
Paul specializes in sculpting wildlife by observing various species and capturing their essence through the use of wire. Each piece is unique and can take many hours to create, using only wires and pliers. You might find him twisting wires at any of the birding hotspots along the Suffolk coast.
In addition to his own sculpting, Paul enjoys teaching others how to make wire birds. His workshops attract students of all ages, who become highly concentrated and absorbed in the creative process. Like all Art Safari tutors, he loves to share the skills of transforming simple materials into beautiful works of art, fostering a deep connection with nature and enhancing artistic skills in others. The birds can be sculpted as freestanding pieces or mounted on driftwood or reclaimed wooden plinths.
A typical day with Paul involves birding chat, lots of wire and warm clothes for excursions to the riverbank, and plenty of biscuits.
