Experience the exhilarating dance of swifts amidst the picturesque landscapes of Woodbridge, Suffolk, in this wonderful day workshop led by renowned wildlife and landscape artist, Jonathan Pomroy.
Delve into the heart of field sketching as Jonathan shares his passion for observing wildlife up close, capturing their essence in lively sketches teeming with character.
You will discover Jonathan’s techniques for swiftly sketching the proportions and unique features of these magnificent birds, all the while immersing yourself in the beauty of their natural habitat.
From capturing swifts in flight to depicting the lush surroundings they inhabit, you will gain invaluable insights into Jonathan’s artistic process, enriched by his extensive experience and profound connection to nature.
As an area representative for Swift Conservation and co-founder of Helmsley Swifts, Jonathan’s passion for these remarkable birds extends beyond his artwork. Drawing from his expertise and advocacy you will not only learn the art of capturing swifts on paper but also gain insight into the importance of preserving their habitats.
Thanks to the fantastic work of our local swift group, Woodbridge has become a leading town in swift conservation efforts. The community led group have installed hundreds of swift boxes throughout the area, including one right here at the office. It’s a shining example of how we can all contribute to the return of swifts to our Suffolk skies!

There is no parking available at the Art Safari Studio/Harbourmasters Office.
There is however a pay and display car park at the Woodbridge Railway Station. It is a very short walk away!
